Town of Woolsey Proclaims April 2026 as Woolsey Safe Digging Month
Fayette County, GA— The Town of Woolsey officially proclaimed April 2026 as Woolsey Safe Digging Month. Stakeholders gathered at Woolsey Town Hall during the April 13th Town Council meeting for the presentation of the proclamation.
Mayor Ron Smith presented the proclamation and emphasized the importance of safe digging practices for residents, contractors, and utility partners. The group discussed several key topics including locate markings, utility depths, and potential utility conflicts related to upcoming local projects.
The initiative reinforces statewide efforts to promote the “Call Before You Dig” process and encourages the community to help protect underground infrastructure and ensure public safety.
