NOTICE OF COMPUTATION AND CANVASSING OF RETURNS

General Primary Runoff Election:

June 16, 2026

In accordance with the Official Code of Georgia §21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the return votes cast in the General Primary Runoff Election to be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 will commence at 7:00 PM on June 16, 2026 and conclude after all votes have been tabulated. Computation and Canvassing of the votes will take place at the following location:

Results will also be available via www.fayettecountyga.gov/elections


Risk Limiting Audit

Pursuant to SEB Rule 183-1-15-.04, a Risk Limiting Audit (RLA) shall be selected by the Secretary of State for the June 16, 2026 General Primary Runoff Election. The contest to be audited shall be selected by the Secretary of State and shall be publicly announced and published on the Secretary of State webpage. The Risk Limiting Audit shall be open to the public and will take place at the following location, dates, and hours:

Fayette County Health Department 245 Booker Ave. Fayetteville, GA 30214

Starting: Friday, June 26th at 9:30 AM until completion.


PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO TABULATE EARLY

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-386(A)(3)-(4), notice is hereby given that the tabulation of returned, absentee ballots of votes cast for the June 16, 2026 General Runoff Primary Election will take place in Fayette County’s Election Office located at 175 Johnson Ave., Ste. A Fayetteville, Georgia, 30214.

The early tabulation of the absentee ballots will begin on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 4:00 P.M.


PUBLIC NOTICE INTENT TO PROCESS EARLY

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. § 21-2-386(A)(3)-(4), notice is hereby given that the processing of returned absentee ballots of votes cast for the June 16, 2026 General Primary Runoff Election will take place as follows:

This location is being relocated due to summer operations.

Signage will be posted at the site redirecting voters to the Fayetteville Church of Christ. Any updates will be provided on the Fayette County Elections website and official social media pages.

Notice of Precinct #7 Hopeful Polling Location Name Update (Emergency)

The Fayette County Elections & Voter Registration Office would like to notify voters assigned to Precinct #7 Hopeful that the polling location building name has changed.

Previous Name:
Bethany United Methodist Church

New Name:
Bethany Methodist Church

The polling location address remains the same:
607 Rivers Road
Fayetteville, GA 30214

This is a name change only. There has been no change to the physical polling location for Precinct #7 Hopeful voters.

A notice sign will also be posted at the polling location to assist voters.

Fayette County Water System Declares Level 1 Drought Response
FAYETTE COUNTY, GA - The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) issued a Level 1 Drought Declaration for the state of Georgia in response to significant rainfall shortages across the entire state. This declaration is in addition to the year-round outdoor watering restrictions, which allow irrigation only between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m.
The Fayette County Water System is asking all customers to conserve water and voluntarily limit outdoor irrigation to two days per week using the following odd-even schedule:
• Even-numbered addresses: Wednesday and Saturday
• Odd-numbered addresses: Thursday and Sunday

Personal Property Reporting Forms

The Assessor’s Office has had a significant number of Personal Property Reporting Forms returned by USPS for various reasons including that the address is incorrect or that the property is vacant. We have verified the addresses and are attempting to mail the forms again. However, if you did not receive a 2024 reporting form for business, personal property, boats, airplanes, or freeport, these forms are available on the Assessors Office website: www.fayettecountyga.gov/assessors_office

ROAD CLOSURES
• Please be advised that beginning on or after March 6, 2026, a portion of Cross Creek Trail will be reduced to single lane traffic from 215 Stoneridge Way to 115 Cross Creek Trail for a 2017 SPLOST stormwater replacement project.  The road is scheduled to be fully open by August 28, 2026, weather permitting. 

The project location is at or near the property line of 215 Stoneridge Way and 115 Cross Creek Trail in Fayette County and consists of removing the existing deteriorating quadruple 72-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culverts conveying a creek below Cross Creek Trail and replacing with a double 9-foot by 9-foot reinforced concrete box culvert.
