Special Called Public Hearings
Please be advised that the Fayette County Board of Commissioners will hold two Special Called Public Hearings on Thursday, October 1, 2026 for the purpose of hearing public input on the millage rate increase. The first hearing will be held at 10 a.m. and the second hearing at 6:00 p.m.
The Public Hearings will take place at Fayette County Administrative Complex, 140 Stonewall Avenue West, Public Meeting Room, Fayetteville, Georgia 30214.
The public is invited to attend.

Fayette County has tentatively adopted a millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 2.62%.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearing on this tax increase to be held at Fayette County Administrative Complex Commission Chambers, 140 Stonewall Avenue West in
Fayetteville on October 1, 2026 at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Times and places of additional public hearings on this tax increase are at Fayette County Administrative Complex Commission Chambers, 140 Stonewall Avenue West, Fayetteville on October 15, 2026 at 5:00 pm.
This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 3.763 mills, an increase of 0.096 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 3.667 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of$575,000 is approximately $21.60 and the proposed tax increase for nonhomestead property with a fair market value of$625,000 is approximately $24.00.

•UPDATE: Cross Creek Trail Lane Reduction Extended to October 1st
Please be advised that the single-lane traffic reduction on Cross Creek Trail (from 215 Stoneridge Way to 115 Cross Creek Trail) is now extended, with the road expected to fully reopen by October 1, 2026.
This delay is due to extensive rock removal required during the stormwater replacement project. Fayette County apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience as we work to protect our infrastructure and citizen safety.
