YARD WASTE DISPOSAL

Effective July 1, 2011 new yard waste rates will go into effect. The $1 fee is the same for an amount less than 1 cubic yd. The new residential rate for amounts between 1-2 cubic yards is $5. Any commercial customer or a resident with an amount over 2 cubic yards will pay a $15 minimum fee or $35/ton. Yard waste disposal is part of the Fayette County Solid Waste enterprise fund and as such, yard waste management costs that include equipment and grinding must be recovered through yard waste fees. Accepted yard waste is grass, leaves, limbs and trunks only. The MAXIMUM SIZE 12 in. wide X 4 ft. long.

ANYONE RECEIVING FREE MULCH OR UNLOADING YARD WASTE FROM A PERSONAL VEHICLE SHOULD READ THIS FIRST

Heavy equipment is used in the yard waste area to load mulch and move yard debris. YOU ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK and by doing so release Fayette County and all its representatives from all claims of damage, injury, and consequences resulting from loading mulch into or unloading yard waste from a personal vehicle in the yard waste area.

FREE MULCH
Free mulch is available anytime for self-loading at both the Transfer Station and McDonough Road across from McCurry Park. Mulch is loaded for free on Saturdays at the Transfer Station.
