Water RestrictionsMost Recent Water Restriction Information: Governor Perdue announced today that due to significant rainfall and improved water supplies the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has issued a non-drought schedule for outdoor water use for the first time since June 2006. Under a non-drought schedule, outdoor water use is allowed three days a week on assigned days using odd and even-numbered addresses. Odd-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Even-numbered and unnumbered addresses are allowed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Water use may occur at any time of the day on the assigned days, however landscape watering is discouraged between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m because of its limited effectiveness. No outside watering is allowed on Fridays. More information about the outdoor water use schedules can be found on the EPD web site at www.georgiaepd.com. To learn more about water conservation and answers to frequently asked questions please go to the EPD Water Conservation web site at www.conservewatergeorgia.net Detailed information on the drought can be found at www.georgiadrought.org.View the Frequently Asked Questions about Water Restrictions Supply and ProductionThe Fayette County Water System (" the System ") currently has a total production capacity of 20.375 million gallons per day (MGD). DistributionThe existing water distribution system is extensively developed on the east side of the County in the Fayetteville area, on the west side throughout Peachtree City and Tyrone, and in the unincorporated portions of the County. The Water System includes more than 606 miles of water lines in various diameters and materials. All water lines are constructed by the Water System's own crews, contracted for with the construction monitored and approved by the Water System's engineer, or are constructed by subdividers and contributed to the Water System upon approval of the construction by the Water System Director. The system wholesales water to the City of Fayetteville pursuant to a wholesale water contract which expires in the year 2034. The Water System is also the backup supply for the Town of Brooks.
