Billing Policies

Water Bills

The Water System bills eight cycles per month and your billing date will vary slightly each month. Please note carefully the due date since this will vary each month due to weekends, holidays, et cetera. Payments must be received in our office on or before the due date to avoid a late charge. The Water System does not go by postmarks on the envelopes.

Effective January 1, 2010

Conservation Rates apply to Residential and Irrigation Meters - ¾" & 1" meters; $18.48 for the first 2,000 gallons; $3.23 per thousand gallons for the next 17,999 gallons; $4.39 per thousand for water usage 20,000 gallons and over.

Conservation Rates apply to Residential and Irrigation Larger Size Meters - 1 ½", 2", 3", and 4" meters have a base rate depending on the size meter installed; water used is $3.23 per thousand for the first 19,999; then $4.39 per thousand thereafter.

Water Rates for businesses and commercial accounts – Minimum bill of $18.48 for the first 2,000 gallons; $3.23 per 1,000 gallons thereafter for ¾" meter – larger meters have a base rate, plus $3.23 per 1,000 gallons used.

Service Charge - There is a $25.00 service charge which is applied to the first billing for all new accounts

Service Interruption

Your service is subject to be interrupted if an amount of $ 18.48 or over is shown on your bill as "amount past due."

If your water service is interrupted for nonpayment, you must pay the entire amount owing on the account, and the $25.00 reconnect fee, at the Fayette County Water System business office at 245 McDonough Road.


Office Hours

The business office, 245 McDonough Road, Fayetteville, is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.

The filtration plant in Peachtree City has someone on duty 24 hours per day, seven days a week.

Emergency Numbers

Please report any emergency during normal working hours to our business office at: 770.461.1146 since we have radio contact with our men.

After office hours, call the Water Treatment plant at 770.487.3271.

Also, the Sheriff's Department or Fire Departments will help get in touch with someone in the Water System who can handle the emergency.

Sewer Rates

The Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority provides sewer service to Peachtree City customers. Please direct questions to 770.487.7993 or 1127 Highway 74 South, Peachtree City, Georgia, 30269.
Peachtree City residential sewer rates only - $26.00 base bill, plus $4.65 per 1,000 gallons of metered water used each month. The rates for Industrial, Commercial and Multi-Family are $26.00 base bill, plus $6.15 per 1,000 gallons of metered water.

The City of Fayetteville provides sewer service to Fayetteville customers. Please direct questions to 770.460.4237 or 240 Glynn Street South, Fayetteville, Georgia, 30214.
City of Fayetteville residential sewer rates only - Minimum bill of $15.95 for 0 gallons to 2,000 gallons of metered water used each month and $2.85 for each additional 1,000 gallons of metered water used. Senior Rates – Minimum bill $13.56 for 0 gallons to 3,000 gallons of metered water used and $2.85 for each additional 1,000 gallons of metered water used. Commercial sewer - Minimum bill of $27.95 for 0 gallons to 2,000 gallons of metered water used each month and $2.85 for each additional 1,000 gallons of metered water used. Minimum charge for sewer is based upon the number of existing units which potentially may be served by each water meter.

Town of Tyrone sewer rate - Minimum bill of $30.00 for the first 4,000 gallons of water used each month and $8.45 for each additional 1,000 gallons of metered water used.
