Technical Services

Jail Operations
The Fayette County Sheriffs Office was proud to open its jail facility in February of 2003. The Jail is operated by the Technical Services Division of the Sheriffs Office with an allotted staff of 98 employees with Detention Officers being the majority of personnel. The Technical Services Division staff is supplemented by Correct Health who provides medical care to inmates in this facility, as well as Trinity Services Group who prepares and provides meals to all those incarcerated inside this facility.
The
Fayette County Jail was designed and built to hold 384 inmates
in the housing units with an additional 20 cells available in the
medical section. The new facility was programmed and designed to
be operated utilizing the principles of direct supervision. Currently,
construction is still going on to connect the New Jail with the
old housing unit which will provide an additional 75 cells for
inmates.

Bonding Procedure
Listed below is information for bonding an arrested person out of the Fayette County Detention Center. A bond is a contract between the arrested subject, surety, and the court. A bond is a guarantee that the arrested person will appear for any and all court appearances connected with the case. A BOND IS NOT A FINE! If the defendant fails to appear for court, the bond is subject to forfeiture. To post a bond you must be 18 or older with a state issued identification card or driver license. The options for posting bond for a defendant in the Fayette County Detention Center are as follows:
- Cash Bond
A cash bond can be paid by either cash or a bank issued certified check. A certified check must be verified by a Supervisor before the bond can be approved. The cash bond amount is also the amount of cash you need to post, i.e. if the bond is $500.00, then $500.00, cash must be posted. The Fayette County Detention Center only deals with correct change so please only bring the allotted amount. - Property Bond
A property bond may be posted by individuals who own property in Fayette County. To post a property bond you must have the original warranty deed (we will not accept copies), a current tax statement and all persons on the deed must be present. In case of the death of a named person on the deed, you must show proof of the death (i.e. death certificate). A quit claim deed is only acceptable if accompanied with the original warranty deed. The assessed value of the property must be greater by a sum of twice the bond amount to be approved, (i.e. if the bond is $1,000.00 you must have $2,000.00 in equity). - Professional Bondsman
Fayette County Detention Center uses the following bondsman:- Anytime Bonding - 770-461-9464
- Better Bonding - 404-659-5566
- Fayette Bonding - 770-460-5572
- Jam Bonding - 770-461-2211
- Transfer Bond (out of county bond)
A transfer bond is an option for individuals who own property outside of Fayette County. To obtain a transfer bond you must go to the Sheriffs Office in the county your property is located to find out what documents they require to post a property bond. The Sheriffs Office will prepare the bond and place it in a sealed envelope. Return the sealed envelope to the Fayette County Detention Center where we will complete the bonding process. IF THE ENVELOPE IS OPEN OR TAMPERED WITH, OUR BONDING OFFICER WILL NOT ACCEPT THE BOND.
Bond Fees
We charge a $13.00 bond fee (cash only) for every bond we write. This amount is non-refundable.
