HOW WE BEGAN!

The Fayette County Red Hat Chapter was organized by the Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department in the fall of 2003. The idea was formed when a couple of sisters vacationed in Oregon and experienced the excitement of the red/purple colors and the sisterhood this worldwide chapter has to offer. They brought back a request to the department for us to begin our own chapter. The rest is history. What began as a small group of 20 has now escalated to a large group that continues to grow each year.

We started our chapter with the following suggestions and to this day we enforce them.

No Rules

No Fundraising

No mandatory attendance

Red and purple are a must

We have accomplished what we set out to do! We gathered a variety of women together of all shapes and sizes, and all ages to share this sisterhood with one another to have fun, frolic, and laughter! We meet once each month during the week and once on the weekend for an adventurous outing. These outings are schedule six months in advance which allows everyone to plan their schedules. Mind you we do have special events with other chapters that manage to pop-up during the year. If possible we do try and attend; after all we are a sisterhood. If you are bored, looking for new some new friends, just plain lonely and looking for something to do. We are just what the DOCTOR ordered. Join us as we dress up in our Red and Purple Color and watch the FUN begin!
