Road Closures:
July 28, 2005: Two County Road Still Closed

Following heavy rains earlier this month, two Fayette County roads, Wagon Wheel Circle and Mann Road, remain closed. Work to repair damage continues but there is no word at this time when these roads will reopen.

May 19, 2005: Expect Road Delays on State Route 92

The DOT has begun work on the State Route 92 Project. Expect Lane closures from 6 pm to 6 am, Monday through Friday. Completion date for this project is November 30, 2005.

May 27, 2005: Ramp closures on I-85 S

Beginning Friday June 10th at 9 p.m. through Monday June 13th at 5 a.m., and on the following weekend of June 17th, Georgia DOT construction crews will close two right lands on I-85 SB from just north on SR 74 to just south of SR 74. Weather permitting, this closure is for contractors to do the final work on the I-85 southbound side reconstruction. Due to the lane configuration at this part of the project, only one lane will be open to thru traffic from just north of the SR 74 exit to just south of the exit during both weekends. The exit ramp from I-85 to SR 74 will also be closed during both weekends.

Once contractors are done with the southbound side, they anticipate beginning work on the northbound side in late June/early July. As a result, the two right lanes will be closed on I-85 northbound from SR 74 to just south of SR 138/Union City exit. The entrance ramp from SR 74 to I085 north will be closed during these two weekends also.

To accommodate the heavy travel during Memorial Day and July 4th holiday weekends, there will be no work during these weekends.
