Help for Victims of Hurricane Katrina

Displaced by Hurricane Katrina

If you have a relative, friend, or know of someone that has been displaced by Hurricane Katrina and is currently in Fayette County help is just a phone call away.

The Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services and the Department of Family and Children Services and many churches and businesses have partnered to provide help to those that are currently in Fayette County. Displaced residents of hurricane ravaged areas are encouraged to call the Department of Family and Children Services at 770-460-2555 Monday thru Friday 8:00-5:00 and this weekend including Monday 9:00 to 12:00. Through a community outreach program Family and Children Services can provide victims with personal items, pharmaceuticals, medical services, enrolling their children in local schools, job placement and a wide range of other services.
