4-H Week in Fayette County

alt

The Board of Commissioners proclaimed October 11 - 16 as "4-H Week in Fayette County" at the October 14th Board of Commissioners Meeting. They recognized the members, staff and volunteer leaders of the Fayette County 4-H, as well as 4-H Clubs throughout Georgia, as they continue the one-hundred year tradition of youth development and education through their programs and community involvement.

The mission of the 4-H Club is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills and forming attitudes that will enable them to become self-directed, productive, contributing members of society.

"It is wonderful that these young people are taking their time and energy to do good things for the community and themselves. The leadership in the community often comes from people who started out just like these young people have," said Chairman Dunn.
