The Department of Fire & Emergency Services patch
is now being displayed on the memorial wall at the Fire Zone in New York
City. Since the events of September 11, 2001, patches from fire departments
throughout the world have been brought to the Fire Zone to honor the 343
firefighters of the New York Fire Department who lost their lives. New
York Firefighter and Fire Safety Educator Kevin Hannafin is shown with
the Fayette County patch. Kevin lost his younger brother Thomas at the
World Trade Center.
