
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to Fayette County by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by government and its management.

Mark Pullium, Director of Business Services was presented the Financial Reporting Achievement Award for his role in preparing the award winning CAFR.
“Mark and his staff are serious about maintaining the highest of financial standards and work daily to ensure that our public’s finances are managed and reported in a manner that the citizens can have full faith and confidence in,” said Chris Cofty, County Administrator. “I congratulate Mark and the Finance Department and thank them for their efforts on behalf of our citizens.”
The CAFR was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 15,000 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D.C.
