The Red Hat Society from the Parks and Recreation Department accepts the proclamation proclaiming April 25, 2004 as Red Hat Society Day. This proclamation was presented at the April 7, 2004 Board of Commissioners Meeting.

In our ongoing efforts to serve the citizens of Fayette County better, the county has acquired the new domain name: www.fayettecountyga.gov

All county email addresses will be transferred soon to our new, "easier-to-remember" domain name. Pages and email will still be available under the old domain.

Fayette County Government Celebrates National County Government Week...Read More

National County Government Week is April 18-24. This week is designed to raise public awareness about the roles and responsibilities of county government. Fayette County Government will celebrate this week by hosting an Open House on Thursday, April 22, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Fayette County Administration Complex, 140 W. Stonewall Avenue. The public is invited to visit the booths of the various county government departments to learn what services and programs are offered to the community and citizens of Fayette County. Free on-site services and information packets will be available. Chris Cofty, County Administrator said, “This is an excellent opportunity for our citizens to get a hands on look at the services the County has to offer.” The highlight of the afternoon will be the dedication of the new Justice Center at 2:00 p.m. The Justice Center is located at 1 Center Drive. The public is invited.
