Fayette County Emergency Services Personnel Receive Local, Regional and National Awards

Several members of the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services have been the recipients of awards from local, regional and national organizations.  Captain Steve Folden, the department’s EMS Educator and Training Officer was recognized as the 2006 Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year by Fayetteville’s American Legion Post # 105. Chief Jack J. Krakeel, Director of the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services has been selected as the national recipient of the 2006 James O. Page Award given annually by the Emergency Medical Services Section of the International Association of Fire Chiefs and co-sponsored by Medtronic Corporation.

Public Notice

The Board of Commissioners will hold a budget workshop on Thursday, May 11, beginning at 5 p.m. The workshop will be held in the County Commissioners' Conference Room located in Suite 100 of the Fayette County Administrative Complex at 140 Stonewall Avenue West in Fayetteville. This workshop will be followed by the Board's regular meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. in the Public Meeting Room at the same location. A public hearing on the proposed FY '07 budget is scheduled as a part of the 7 p.m. meeting. The public is invited to attend both the workshop and the public hearing.

Budget Hearings Scheduled

The Board of Commissioners will hold 2 public hearings on Fayette County’s proposed FY 07 annual budget. These hearings will be held in the Public Meeting Room of the Fayette County Administrative Complex in Fayetteville. The first hearing is scheduled for May 11 at 7 pm. The second hearing will be held on May 25 at 7 pm at the same location.  The public is invited to attend and will be allowed to comment on the proposed budget.
