Fayette County Transfer Station (Landfill) to close at noon on Labor Day

The Fayette County Transfer Station (Landfill) on First Manassas Mile Road will close at noon on Monday, September 4, 2006 in observance of Labor Day.  Normal business hours are 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM, Monday through Saturday.  Please call (770)460-5730 X 5410 if you have any questions or concerns.

Weight Limit Reduced on McIntosh Road Bridge

The weight limit on the McIntosh Road Bridge, which crosses the Flint River, has been reduced to three tons until further notice.

Due to recent complaints of the pungent odor in Fayette County, the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services has developed the form below to track possible illnesses of the citizens of Fayette County.

The deadline for Exposure Reports is 5:00pm on September 1, 2006.

Citizens are able to complete the form in two ways.

  1. Print the form, complete it and mail to the address shown on the form.
  2. Fill the form out on the web and attach it in an email to sroberts@fayettecountyga.gov.

American Heart Association Appoints Allen McCullough to National and State Leadership Positions

The American Heart Association is pleased to announce the appointment of long-time volunteer and Fayette County Chief of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Dr. Allen McCullough, to chair the Georgia Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) committee and serve on the National ECC Committee as part of the Education Subcommittee and the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Subcommittee.

The Fayette County Public Library will be closed on Saturday, September 2, 2006, as well as Monday, September 4, 2006.  

The September 2 closing is due to a major software migration for all 249 Georgia Public Libraries which belong to the statewide Public Information Network for Electronic Services (PINES).  All library materials may be returned to the library on that Labor Day weekend of Saturday, Sunday and Monday, September 2, 3 and 4, 2006.
