Early Registration for Summer Camps

The Fayette County Parks and Recreation Department will hold early registration for ONE DAY ONLY for Summer Camps. Registration will be held on March 31st from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Activities House on Redwine Road. Early registrations for these camps are encouraged! .

Blended Heritage Celebration at the Fayette County Public Library

Friday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. the Fayette County Public LIbrary hosts the Blended Heritage Celebration. The theme this year is “E Pluribus Unum,” celebrating the many and varied individuals that make this one strong community. This is the ninth annual Blended Heritage event, and we have another terrific lineup of performers and visual artists planned. If you have ever attended Blended Heritage before, then you know what a unique and festive occasion it is. If you have missed it in years previous, we hope you will join us this time around.

Library Hosts Six Award-Winning Georgia Authors

Six award-winning Georgia romance authors come together at the Fayette County Public Library on Saturday, February 17 for “Romance is a Many-Splendored Thing,” a Valentine’s celebration of the rich diversity of the romance genre. The stories range from hearts-and-flowers to murder, mayhem and hot sizzle, and the writers share what it takes to become a best-selling author. Each author will give a presentation, followed by Q&A and book signings, in Fayetteville, Saturday, February 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Fayette County Public Library, 1821 Heritage Park Way.  It is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments to be served.

Weather Warning Siren Test

Fayette County currently has 13 severe weather warning sirens throughout the County. Fayette County will be conducting a live test of the system on Wednesday, February 21, at 09:10 in conjunction with Severe Weather Awareness Week. If severe weather threatens on Wednesday the 21st the test will be conducted on Friday, February 23 at the same time. Citizens are encouraged to inform family and friends of the test and to take this opportunity to review of develop a severe weather plan of action.
