Chief Marshal Edward A. Collins

Chief Marshal Edward A. Collins

The Fayette County Board of Commissioners appointed Edward A. Collins as the Chief Marshal on February 28, 2005. Chief Collins has over 30 years experience in Law Enforcement.

Chief Collins came to Fayette County after his retirement from the Clayton County Solicitor General’s Office where he served as the Chief Investigator.

Chief Collins is a Professor of Public Administration and Criminal Justice at Saint Leo University and the Georgia Military College.

Professional Qualifications:

  • MPA from Columbus State University
  • B.A. in Criminology from Saint Leo College
  • A.A. in Criminal Justice from Clayton State University
  • Administrative Officers Course from the Southern Police Institute
  • Management Certificate- State of Georgia POST Council
  • General Instructor POST Council
  • Firearms Instructor
  • Certified Open Water Scuba Instructor
  • Court certified handwriting and fingerprint Expert
