Deputy Chief Bartlett Completes Executive Fire Officers Program

The U.S. Fire Administration’s National Fire Academy announced today that Fayette County Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Chief Thomas Bartlett has successfully completed the Executive Fire Officers Program.

“This intensive program is designed to provide senior fire officers with a broad perspective on various facets of fire administration,” according to U.S. Fire Administrator R. David Paulison. “This program provides fire service officers with the expertise they need to succeed in today’s challenging environment.”

The program consists of four courses: Executive Development, Leading Community Risk Reduction, Executive Analysis of Fire Services Operation in Emergency Management, and Executive Leadership. These courses require a written Applied Research Project to demonstrate application of course theory and concept to real life situations within the student’s own organization. Each of these projects was evaluated through a formal process, and progression through the program was contingent on achieving each of these milestones.

“The completion of the Executive Fire Officers Program by Deputy Chief Bartlett is an example of the dedication of individual members of the department to excel in their respective areas of responsibility.” according to Jack Krakeel, Director of Public Safety. “The completion of this comprehensive program will continue to assist our department in providing the citizens of Fayette County with the highest level of service possible.”  

Each year the U.S. Fire Administration only accepts a limited number of applicants for the Executive Fire Officers Program. Acceptance is based on a number of qualifications and fire service competences. 

Deputy Chief Tom Bartlett is a 26 year veteran of the Department and oversees the Operations Division of the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
