The Bureau of Fire Prevention is responsible for :

  • Regular business inspections
  • Maintaining hydrant records
  • Reviewing building plans
  • Coordinating the fire safety education program
  • Investigating the cause of all fires
  • Conducting arson investigations

Additionally the Bureau of Fire Prevention manages the department's information records system and issues permits for:

  • Outdoor burning
  • Blasting
  • Fireworks displays
  • Underground storage tank
  • Flammable liquid storage
  • Fire safety compliance
