For your convenience we have complied a list of the most common types of inspections necessary for both residential and commercial building. This is not a complete inspection list and is intended to be used as a reference.

TEMPORARY POLE (Release to Power Company)
1st FLOOD PLAIN If required
FOOTING B/F concrete is poured: all mud, loose dirt, rocks, roots, etc. must be removed
Foundation Wall  
Slab Plumbing Prior to covering
Slab Electric Prior to covering
Slabs/ Slab Footing  
Pier Column Footing(ANYTIME) For decks
Foundation Survey New Single Family Homes / Re-build on New Slab
Dampproof B/F back fill
Gas line Checked on Heat Rough if not called in separate
Fireplace Checked on Heat Rough if not called in separate
TEMPORARY POLE Checked on Heat Rough if not called in separate
Rough Plumbing Work complete – all vents through the roof – boots installed
Rough HVAC Work complete – gas lines & pressure
Rough Electric Work Complete
Anchorbolts Installed and secure on sill plate
2nd Flood Plain   If required
Framing (MUST HAVE ROUGHS FIRST)        Work Complete. Roof shingled, doors and windows installed.
Insulation (MUST HAVE FRAMING FIRST)       Work Complete
30 Day Elect. Release New Res. Only Panel made up & all disconnects in place (Releases to Pwr Company)
Final Plumbing   All fixtures set and water turned on
Final HVAC Furnace & A/C work complete
Septic Tank (No later then Elec. Final)Work complete on septic system
Final Electric Work complete, service on & ready for testing

******MUST PAY ALL RECALL FEES & ALL HOLDS CLEAR B/F SCHEDULING********************

Building Final

 Building ready for occupancy & landscaping complete

Types of Inspections: Commercial & Church

BATTERBOARDS Must be approved by Zoning & Engineering ( Before any Inspections)
FOOTING Prior to concrete being poured; all mud, loose dirt, rocks, etc. must be removed. All rebar in place and anchorbolts set.
ELECTRICAL DITCH COVERUP Conduit must be exposed.
GAS LINE DITCH COVERUP Gas line must be exposed and tracer wire in place if applicable.

SLAB PLUMBING Before plumbing work is covered.
SLAB ELECTRIC Before electrical work is covered
SLABS/MONOSLABS Prior to concrete being poured; after all gravel, poly and rewire are in place, rebar if required, and anchorbolts set.

ANCHORBOLTS After washers and nuts installed and tightened
PLUMBING WALL COVER-UP  
ROUGH PLUMBING Rough installation complete. Rough partial inspections are allowed

PLUMBING CEILING COVERUP  
HVAC WALL COVER UP  
ROUGH HVAC Rough installation complete. Rough partial inspections are allowed
HVAC CEILING COVER UP  
ELECTRIC WALL COVERUP  
ROUGH ELECTRIC Rough installation complete. Rough partial inspections are allowed
ELECTRIC CEILING COVERUP  

FRAMING Rough framing complete. Rough partial inspections are allowed. Roofing must be complete and all windows set previous to inspection
***Framing inspection to be called in after ALL ROUGH MECHANICALS APPROVED***
INSULATION After framing has been approved and insulation installation complete. Partial inspections are allowed

80% FIRE MARSHAL Must be approved by the Fire Marshal’s Office (770) 305-5414 (After dry wall is up but before tape & mud are applied)

FINAL PLUMBING Work must be complete - All fixtures set
FINAL HVAC Work must be complete - All furnaces and A/C units set and operable.
FINAL ELECTRIC Work must be complete.
COMMERCIAL ELECTRIC RELEASE  
COMMERCIAL GAS RELEASE  

ZONING & ENGINEERING FINALS APPROVALS

100% FIRE MARSHAL Must be approved by the Fire Marshal’s Office (770) 305-5414
FINAL BUILDING All Final Mechanical Inspections must be approved previous to Final Building Inspection. Building must be ready for occupancy.
**Do not call for Final Building until Zoning, Engineering and 100% Fire Marshal have been approved**

CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Issued after ALL FINALS are approved (Building Department, Zoning & Engineering, Fire Marshall and Food Service if applicable), ALL HOLDS cleared and ALL FEES due, are paid.
