Lee Hearn
County Commissioner

Lee Hearn was elected to the Board of Commissioners in 2008 and is serving his first four-year term, which began on January 1, 2009 and will expire on December 31, 2012. He was elected from what is known as Post 3, even though County Commissioners in Fayette County are elected from voters from throughout the entire County.

Lee grew up in the South Fulton County community of Palmetto, where his family has “deep roots”. He is a professional engineer, having graduated from Georgia Tech. In addition to his work as a private consultant, Lee has many years experience in local government public works positions, including more than ten years serving as Fayette County’s Director of Public Works. He has also worked for Douglas and Henry Counties and is currently the Director of Public Works for the City of McDonough.

Lee and his family have lived in Brooks for a number of years. He and his wife, Theresa, have two sons, Sam and Daniel. In addition to spending his leisure time with his family, Lee enjoys the outdoors, including hunting and fishing. He is an avid duck hunter. Lee and his family are active members of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church.
